Drug Rehabilitation

Drug Rehab is a process of treatment to enable a drug addicts to stop drug use. It simply means to give an addict his life back by stopping the dependency on drugs The main aim is to make drug addicts to live drug-free life. It addresses the physical, medical and psychological care needed for substance addiction treatment.
The regular use of drugs makes the brain to adapt to the presence of the drug; known as chemical dependency and the abrupt cessations of taking the drug can lead to withdrawal symptoms which is the time it takes the body to get back to normal This can range from weeks to months. Rehabilitation for physical dependency involves a detoxification process to help the patient cope with withdrawal symptoms.
Psychological dependency treatment involve program that teach the addicts new methods of interacting in drug-free environment. Patients are encouraged not to associate with people be they friends or family who still use addictive substance. Addicts are not only encourage to stop drug use but to examine to change habits related to their addiction, and to successfully adapt to their environment. The treatment centres provide both detox and psychological rehabilitation which are necessary to achieve full recovery from drug addiction. Drug rehab is not always something most addicts will admit they need; so it is often up to loved one to help them take this step. An addict will also need to have the willingness to change the habit of drug use . A persons will power plays a vital role in recovery so efforts are made to instill confidence in the patient during treatment. The support by friends and family helps contribute to the success of the person undergoing treatment. There are various types of rehab clinics and programs. The clinics are Therapeutic community rehabilitation clinics, Religious based rehabilitation clinics, Medical model rehabilitation clinics.
Twelve step Rehabilitation clinics. The twelve step rehabilitation clinics are the most common. The programs can be , out-patient, in-patient, extended care centres, local support groups, recovery or sober homes. There are also some age and gender based rehabilitation programs . The provision of support and care to help addicts return to healthy normal life after a period of drug use and addiction is the reason for Drug Rehab
